I added two or three more Sassy videos to my youtube, but I had to share this one from today. Since we can't ride again until Thanksgiving, due to her surgery, we have been doing a lot of "at liberty" (without a rope) work on the ground. Today, I introduced her to an obstacle course of cones, signaling to her to go through the cones and circle the end cones each time. This was the first try. I would say she got it! (I wish my students learned this fast, or had her attention span, for that matter!)
Here is the video:

Sassy Update

A couple of videos showing her return from the hospital a month ago and her return to pasture and first ground workout today. We also moved her to a nice boarding stable just three minutes from where we live.

the island
Guy's first ferry boat ride.
Ready for fun!
Everyone had a nice time lounging around the island.
Now five generations have been to the island.
There was a lot of exploring to do.
Grandma (G.G.) rested near the beach while we played.
Guy took in his surroundings.
The rocks were very fascinating.
Marie enjoyed the beach.
She also liked playing with the rocks.
It was a beautiful day.
better late than never ...
summer finally arrived in Seattle - in time for Ashley & Chris's wedding, and for a few outdoor activities...a day on Vashon with lots of sun and cool breezes, and a day at Lake Meridian courtesy of very generous Sequoia Baptist members who hosted a picnic and swim day for the children, and their lucky families.
Laura and Gretchen are sitting on the dock in left picture, and Laura with birthday cake Ann & Fabio were thoughtful enough to provide.

Mary wanted me to post about the Pilchuck adventure the girls and I had today.

1. Sick horse being treated at Pilchuck Equine
hospital.

2. Soon to be sick kid treated at
Pilchuck Drive-In.

3. Laura petting 1,300 pounds of horse

4. Gretchen eating a quarter pound of...
well, it's a $2.00 foot-long...anyone's
guess what critter it was made from

5. Extremely expensive equine hospital where people are trying to restore the health of our horse, who can't take a crap

6. Extremely inexpensive restaurant where
people eat like a horse and don't give a
crap for their health
